Second jyotriling - Shri Mallikaarjun

This anecdote goes back to the time when both Lord Kartikey and Lord Ganesha wanted to get married first. This created the conflict between them and to solve this conflict it was decided that whosoever will complete three rounds of the world first would be declared as a winner and he will be married first.
After this Lord Kartikey quickly went to take 3 rounds but Lord Ganesha being quick witted knew that he won't be able to match his brother so he took 3 rounds around his parents. This decision of him made him the winner and he was married first.
When Lord Kartikey came back after completing the rounds,he was very exasperated after knowing what all had happened.
Offended by this decision he went to the Shri Shail parvat and started residing there. This made Mahadev and Mata Parvati melancholic,hence they both decided to go to that mountain and bring their son back to their abode.
Knowing this that Mahadev and Mata Parvati are coming, Lord Kartikey left that place. Gloomy Mahadev and Mata Parvati hence decided to always reside there as “Mallikaarjun”.
“Mallika” means Mata Parvati whereas “Arjun” means Mahadev.
This jyotriling is also known as “ Kailash of South”.
